The title of this post gives it all away.I’m going to County Clare, Ireland. Well, I guess that’s not all. I’m also going to Adelaide, Australia, and many airports in between.
This evening, I leave Boston and land in Shannon, Ireland very early. I’ll take a bus to Ballyvaughan. Once we are all settled (or perhaps before then), we will start exploring the area. During my time in Ireland I’ll be focusing on my creative writing. I’m using these three weeks to immerse myself in the Irish country-side and the unique land formations.
After three weeks in Ireland, I’ll fly to Australia to visit my sister, Erin, and her boyfriend, Tom, in Adelaide. While I’m with them, I’ll spend some time relaxing while I finish up my portfolio from Ireland.
My last few years at Emerson have been full of stress and hard (but rewarding) work. This is what I was working towards: the chance to be a writer. I’m going to take this opportunity to publicly thank my family for making this possible for me.
While all of this means I won’t be blogging much (I know, I’m usually so consistent), you can still follow the fun. I’ll be updating both Twitter and Instagram along the way. I’m so lucky to be staying at Burren College of Art where I’ll meet other artists, writers, and photographers. So that means the camera is coming along, too.
I’ll be back in the United States in late August. Till then…
